There’s a line in my favorite song
Is He Worthy by Andrew Peterson that says,
“Is all creation groaning? It is. Is a new creation coming? It is. Is the glory of the Lord to be the light within our midst? It is. Is it good that we remind ourselves of this? It is.”
I’ve felt the Lord’s nudging to get back to painting and writing for quite some time, but so much has changed for me since I used to write and share creatively that it honestly feels awkward trying to jump back in. I hope to share bits of that storyline over time on this blog. But the nudge I’ve been feeling to come back to putting art and words into the world again is that this fallen world is in need of reminders that God is still good and there is still beauty to be found in each day.
That even the most mundane, ordinary days still contain beautiful things, and sharing that beauty continues to remind and encourage others of His goodness as well.
There’s a David Platt quote that says, “Be humbly consumed to what God has called you to.” So welcome to this space, where I’m stepping out in obedience to the calling that God is putting on my heart. I hope this space will help you and me both to chase the light and share the joy of the beauty we find in ordinary things.
